On 26 and 27 May in Vidin took place training “The Italian tools for
assessment of child victims. Experience exchange”, conducted by Vittoria
Quondamatteo and Greta de Santis from A.p.s. Il Fiore del deserto. Our partners
presented the system around the child victims of abuse in Italy and the
existing mechanisms for guaranteeing the rights of the child. A special space
was devoted to a promising practice, developed in cooperation between the Hospital
Umberto I in Rome, local NGOs, the Court and the Prosecution, and the Police.
Umberto I is the largest hospital in Europe and for a number of years is
successfully applying the so-called “Pink-code”, which is a specialised
admission in the hospital and continuous support for women and children, who
are suspected to be victims of violence.
The other important accent of the
training was the direct work with families, who commit abuse against their
children.
