On the 4thof April 2007, the Labour and Social Policy Minister Emilya Maslarova, together with the Mayor of Pazardjik Ivan Evstatiev inaugurated in Pazardjik the building of the Complex for Social Services to Children and Families.
The construction was executed in the project "The Child Welfare Reform in Bulgaria" implemented by the Bulgarian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy with the financial support of the World Bank.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Ms. Harizanova, head of the Welfare Reform Project, Mr. Popov, chairperson of the Municipality Council, Mr. Cholakov, the District Governor, representatives of the municipality and district administration, visitors and clients of the complex.
The complex itself has provided for more than a year social services to children and families under the management of SAPI. The services have been directed towards child abandonment prevention, family planning, social inclusion, family integration and different services for children at risk. SAPI has won the recent public tender and will continue to manage the complex for the next 5 years.
