In November, 2009 guest of SAPI was Mrs. Orthodoxi Salomon – a French Clinical Psychologist. Mrs. Salomon has a long-term experience in the consultation and therapy of children – victims of violence in Nancy, France.
Over the last year she worked on transculutral therapy using the aid of ancient Greek mythology, which allowed her to include her Greek origin in her work as a family therapist in France. On November 9th, 2009 Mrs. Salomon supervised the case work related to children victims of violence of the reams in the CSSCF in Shoumen and Pazardjik. In the training on “Violence against Children and Families at Risk” /10,11th of November, 2009, Shipka Hotel, Sofia/ took paart social workers and psychologists from Sofia, Shoumen, and Pazardjik. The participants were introduced to the psycho-emotional problems of the children victims of violence, as well as with some successful techniques and practices used in the direct work on cases and provision of support. Mrs. Orthodoxi presented the typology of dysfunctional families in which violence often occurs and the specifics of the work with such families. A special part of the training was dedicated to the resilience approach and the concept of good treatment of the children. The participants appreciated the usefulness of the training and its detailed tackling of the problem of child violence illustrated with examples from the practice of Mrs. Orthodoxi Salomon.
