On 04 and 06 July in the
Community Support Center in Sofia, prof. Ugo Sabatello, child neuropsychiatrist
and professor at the Sapienza University in Rome, Italy, conducted supervision to
SAPI team.
During the meeting specialists
SAPI shared its own practice in working with child victims of sexual abuse and
exploitation and their families.
Prof. Sabatello presented to th he
team the pilot project "S.A.C.R.A.I." - Service for support, care and
research in the field of child abuse, which is implemented by the Department of
Pediatrics and Child Neuropsychiatry of the Sapienza University, in partnership
with University Hospital Umberto I. According to prof. Sabatello, manager of
the project "this is a structure that provides therapeutic interventions
for victims of sexual violence and exploitation, and children and young
perpetrators of sexual violence. The service is provided by a multidisciplinary
team involving the child neuropsychiatrists, psychologists and lawyers and is
an important center for scientific research, support, consultation and training
of specialists in the field of forensic psychiatry”.
