On 09.01.2011 the director of the Complex for social services to children and families and the head of the Sector "Services and support to the child" took part in a Round table in Plovdiv

for discussion of the results from the research of the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee regarding the reasons for the institualization of the Roma children in Bulgaria.
The research contained analysis of the legislation and the policies for placement of Roma children in institutions, as well as an on-site investigation of the practices carried out in child institutions, the Social Support Directorates, the Child Protection Units, the community social services and the NGOs that work for the protection of Roma children. The research was conducted between May and September 2010 in five regions - Sofia, Plovdiv, Pazardjik, Varna and Sliven.
